The foundation of any parish, in addition to its pastors and priests, is the many and varied organizations, both social and religious, which contribute to its support. Men and women, and youth as well, have come together to foster a sense of comradery and Christian charity. So it is with the Parish of Saint John of the Cross.

The first such organization was the usher corps which had its start with those first five gentlemen who gathered to assits parishioners to their seats on that blustery day in November, eighty-five years ago. A succession of dedicated men has continued to serve the parish up to the present day.
