Confirmation Program
Our St. John of the Cross Parish Program encompasses all aspects of Youth Ministry, which includes a well-rounded and traditionally Catholic experience of catechesis, service, social, and prayer and worship opportunities as part and parcel of this preparation.
Faith is something we live every day of our lives and we intend to focus on this process of living out the Gospel call Jesus extends to all of us: Come follow me! We give to you a sound doctrinal and spiritual base as we prepare you to live your life as an adult Catholic in today’s Church.
Service through Ministry
Serving our Parish Community The document published by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, “Renewing the Vision,” describes the framework for Catholic Youth Ministry. In this document, the Catholic Bishops highlight a ministry of Justice and Service as essential to our mission as Catholic Christians. Our Confirmation program offers all teenagers an opportunity to serve others through opportunities such as St. Vincent de Paul Shelter, the Apple Harvest Festival, St. Patrick’s Day Senior Bingo, Collection of personal care kit items, and sandwich making.
Liturgical Ministry Perhaps one of the most transformational parts of our faith life as Catholics is the united celebration of the Mass every Sunday. We encourage our teenagers preparing for Confirmation to serve our parishioners through serving as altar servers, cross bearers, ushers, choir members and lectors. These ministries help unite the importance of the Mass with a ministry of service to our church.
